Watch these Philippine eagles fly free in Leyte
Philippine eagles Carlito and Uswag were released into the Anonang-Lobi mountain range in Leyte on June 28. They were earlier rescued by the Philippine Eagle Foundation in Mindanao. The group hopes the pair (Uswag is male, Carlito – yes – is female) will start the reintroduction of the species in the province, where they hadn’t been sighted since Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
