The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigresses are one win away from ending National University’s dominance in UAAP women’s basketball. This, after UST held on for a 76-72 victory over the Lady Bulldogs in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 86 Finals on Wednesday, November 29. The Tigresses also ended a 20-game losing streak against the Lady Bulldogs.

NU has won the last seven UAAP women’s basketball championships but they were outplayed in crunch time by the Tigresses, led by veteran Tacky Tacatac who scored 11 of her 14 points in the final quarter.
