MAYNILA – ‘Live selfies’ na at hindi stock photos ang gagamitin sa SIM registration, matapos maglabas ng memorandum ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) para rito.

Gagamitin din ang eKYC Program o Electronic Know Your Customer para ma-verify nang husto ang mga dokumento sa pagproseso gaya ng IDs.

Sagot ito ng mga ahensya sa mga nadiskubreng isyu sa sistema ng pagpaparehistro mula Hulyo gaya ng pagrehistro ng libo-libong SIM cards sa POGO.

At nitong Setyembre, napag-alamang kayang irehistro ang SIM card gamit ang larawan ng unggoy, pati na rin ang larawan ng cartoon characters na sina Luffy at Bart Simpson.

Mahigit 100 milyong SIM cards na ang nai-register noong July 30 deadline, pero hindi lahat dito ay totoong tao, sabi ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).

Nais din ng PAOCC na amyendahan ang Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) sa SIM registration at i-review ang naunang narehistrong SIM cards.
