On The Scene: Britain’s Royal Mint has released special edition 50 pence coins to mark King Charles’ coronation on Thursday (August 10). Post offices and banks will receive 5 million pieces of the new coin which features a profile of Charles and Westminster Abbey, the site of his coronation. Charles appears uncrowned on the coin in keeping with tradition that only female monarchs appear wearing crowns.
