On The Scene: As the record-breaking heat continues in New York City, the cool sound of ice carving can be heard from a sculptor’s studio under an elevated subway train in Queens. Shintaro Okamoto, an ice sculptor in New York, runs an artist collective, which produces installations and performances out of crystal-clear ice. This is the collective’s 20th anniversary.
